Hnefatafl or Viking Chess is a deadly game of siege and escape that can be enjoyed by players of all ages. The rules are simple and quickly learned but a cunning strategy is the key to victory.
This set has been designed and produced by Alistair Reid in our workshop at Cladach on the beautiful Isle of Arran. The board folds to neatly encase the playing pieces enabling play almost anywhere and features celtic knots in the corner refuge squares and the shape of the Isle of Arran is positioned in the centre. The set is carefully designed to minimise waste and is laser cut from sustainably sourced MDF.
